Super Simple Seed Crackers
Try these wholesome, surprisingly simple and very morish seed crackers!
Full of flaxseeds for natural phytoestrogens to support hormone balance and healthy fats for brain function.
Season however you like… I use smoked paprika and pink himalayan salt but other great combos can include - rosemary and black pepper, lemon zest and thyme, garlic powder and mixed herbs or nutritional yeast for a cheesy twist.
Finally top with your favourite flavour combos. I use some fermented kimchi, cheddar and toasted sesame seeds and fresh fig, crumbled feta, a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of thyme.
Ingredients
⅓ cup of almond Flour
⅓ cup of sunflower seeds
⅓ cup pumpkin seeds
⅓ cup flax/chia/hemp seeds
1 tbs psyllium Husk
1 cup boiling water
¼ cup melted coconut oil
Method
Preheat oven to 150c
Mix together the seeds, psyllium husk and almond flour
Add the water and let them bind for 5/10 mins
Melt the coconut oil and stir in
Split the dough into as many seasoning flavours as you want
Roll as thinly as possible between 2 baking sheets
Season with your choice of flavouring
Bake for 25 mins
Remove from oven and score lightly into 5x5cm squares if you like even crackers (we like them rustic so don't bother!)
Flip the cracker onto another sheet of baking paper
Return to oven and bake for further 25 mins
Leave to cool
Top with your favourite flavour!
Notes:
For seasonings you can try paprika, garlic powder, nutritional yeast, black pepper, dried herbs, grated cheese or pink himalayan salt.
I usually double the ingredients and keep some in the fridge in a sealed container – they last quite a while
